SOS is looking for volunteers!
Somerville Open Studios is a volunteer organization. When you choose to give your time to SOS you help your artist community. We are currently looking for volunteers to fill the following positions. If you think you would like to take one one of the following roles, please email the 2015 coordinator, Ellie Laramee-Byers at email@example.com.
- coordination of trolleys on the weekend of event.
- picking up and putting out the trolley stop signs before SOS begins.
- Making sure trolley drivers know their route and helping them to stay on a schedule to ensure properly spaced trolley wait times.
- Helping coordinator with physical tasks such as making sure map book distribution locations are stocked, picking up items for shows (artists' choice, volunteer show) prior to SOS. A car is recommended.
- Starting in February-March this position will require 10-15 hours per week, leading up to SOS. A stipend will be available.
See art in Somerville all year round
You don't need to wait for next year's SOS to see art in Somerville.
Check out current and future exhibits of the Brickbottom Gallery, Nave Gallery, Nave Annex, Washington Street Art Center, Inside-Out Gallery in Davis Square, Micro Museum in Union Square, SCATV Gallery, Somerville Museum, Ready Room Microgallery at Artisan's Asylum, and Tufts University Art Gallery. Something is happening almost every week at one or more of these venues.
