Cambridge Hackspace was started in 2013 with the mission of providing a venue for makers to gather, share tools, and exchange knowledge.
Our member body holds a wide variety of interests and skills including electronics, woodworking, knitting, and photography. We open our doors to the community every Tuesday evening and invite all who are interested to come in, see our space, share ideas, and start making. We also organize workshops in which we share our resources, expertise, and passions with those who are looking to hone a particular skill in a more structured environment.
We aspire to make tinkering and building accessible to every member of our community. As such, we have always strived to ensure that all of our offerings are free or affordable. We have also remained focused on supporting a great range of hobbies. Right now, Cambridge Hackspace’s tool collection includes a laser cutter, several 3D printers, two CNC routers and a CNC milling machine, soldering tools and electronic test equipment, a sewing machine, and two knitting machines. As you will see at our space during Somerville Open Studios, our members and participants create all sorts of art!
