My work deals with the contrast between balance and unbalance, control, and the lack there of. Specifically, I explore the movement of the human body through space and time. My interest in the nature of the human form comes from living with cerebral palsy – a physical disability that causes difficulty in movement and speech as well as involuntary tremors. My small line drawings, photography and interactive sculpture installations incorporate elements of performance art and Minimalism.
I use the unique machinations of my own body motion, often showcasing a visual full figure of my body or my own shaky line drawings. The work is a balance between simple composition and complicated issues that are unseen by many.
