Visit Martha Friend and her family in their historic 1896 house with many original
Victorian features and architectural details - including curved windows, two round
turrets, and carved woodwork. See Martha's award winning garden as it begins to flower
during the early spring weekend of April 30 and May 1! Artwork includes: assemblage,
photographs, jewelry, quilts, pottery, paintings, floor cloths.
Visit the historic Somerville Museum when you are in this area. Home of the Somerville Historical Society, the building is a great example of the Federal Revival style. It was built in the 1920's and features a Bulfinch-designed staircase from the original McLean Hospital. Today the Museum is a community-based cultural institution that hosts many different exhibits, concerts and programs in collaboration with the Somerville Public Schools.
