Artist Statement

I look at the figure, skeletal systems, the coastal environment, and think about the fundamental cycles of life - birth, death, and regeneration.
I build sculptures from fragments of things that I have found such as wooden beams, block of wood, hydrostone, copper sheets and hemp rope.
I start a sculpture by constructing a grid structure and then embed figurative organic elements. The pieces rely on pattern, repetition, and texture for their organization and are scaled to the human body.
